My current wishlist in no particular order:
Alright got trough the 900 pages if the final book in the Dark Artifices trilogy by Cassandra Clare. Some spoilers ahead.
- Getting to know the faeries and the courts more.
- Diana and Gwyn. (I also liked Mark/Christina/Kieran)
- Ty’s development, he is so focused on getting Livvy back its so sad.
- The parabataicurse. “let us burn“
- A bit predictable.
- The book is named after Annabell but she is barely in the book! I wanted an epic villian redemption arc!
- Obvious Ash/Dru thing for the next installment. Also obvious Ty/Kit thing.
- The whole other world plot seems unnecessary.
- Too. Many. Couples.
Warning some of theese books might not se our shelves for some years still….
Lets start with Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare. The dark artifices will have its (maybe?) conclusion if she dont pull a Mortal instruments on us and gives 3 more! This is gonna hit our shelves december 4th this year.
I love this series more than her others actually. The faeries are facinating!
Next up No 4 in The bone season. Samantha Shannon seems to have lost a bit of pace with the 3d book but please oh please keep going!
Expected publication: 2019
Last one and my most wanted and most hated all at the same time. Doors of stone by Patrick Rothfuss. Im pretty sure I need to reread the first 2 in this gigantic trilogy cause its been so long now. But this is about as good as it gets. Wonderful worldbuilding, intresting magicsystem and complex characters.
Expected publication: Not for a while…
What upcomming releases are you waiting for?
Cred to GirlReading for this! I have taken away a few of the questions though.
E-Book Or Physical Book?
Physical books for sure! I do read on my phone sometimes but cant go for long.
Paperback Or Hardback?
Paperback unless its a superspecial book. Im not made of money.
Online Or In-Store Book Shopping?
My town have a crappy selection so I do most of my bookshopping online, BUT nothing compares to a real store!
Trilogies Or Series?
Either or as long as I can see an enddate in the next few years. (Looking at YOU Doors of stone!)
The Last Book You Finished?
The 7 deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle
Top Three Favourite Genres?
Urban fantasy, fantasy, mystery
Character Or Plot?
This is something thats hard to say….. But I think Id rather have hollow characters than nothing happening.
Long Or Short Books?
Long please! 500 pages are nice!
Audiobooks: Yes Or No?
Nope. I fall asleep.
Book To Movie Or Book To TV?
Book to TV. Gives time to develop properly.
Fantasy from Brandon Sanderson and its really good.
The world the characters the magic…. Wonderful! I just have 2 minor issues.
1. The classic;
P1 “Im a nobody” P2 “No! You are special!” P1 “Really?” P2 “Wow such power! This is how it works…”
But I guess its how we as reader will get the info the smoothest/quickest way.
2. The constant use of the word Frowned. I swear if I took a shot every time while reading I would be dunk as a skunk.
This is a trilogy and the first book is my overall fav but can we talk about the ending in the last book? Oh no, spoilers…
What I can say is that the ending is EPIC. But, it took so very long to get there. Second book also suffered from the middle part being really slow. First book feels so different from the other 2 in the series.
First one is a solid 5 stars rating second is 3 stars for me. Most of the last book is 3 stars. Then the end begins and its 5 stars, therefore I pick 4 for the book as a whole.
